SUMMARY:Parent and Child -Home educators group-am
DESCRIPTION:These sessions are for you and your child to meet up in a relaxed environment\, where the children can have use of our gaming room\, while parents can enjoy each others company with a tea or coffee. One of our autism professionals\, who is also a parent of autistic young people\, will be there to provide support for you while a member of staff will be on hand to assist with the gaming\, although children remain the responsibility of parents. Children welcome from age 8 upwards. \nCost £12.50 for the first child\, £7 each for siblings. \nBooking via Eventbrite.

Together\, we’ll explore the key features of PDA\, what drives demand avoidance\, and why traditional parenting approaches often don’t work. You’ll discover practical\, low-demand strategies to reduce stress\, build trust\, and support your child’s wellbeing at home and school. We’ll also cover ways to work with teachers and professionals so your child feels understood\, as well as tips to look after yourself.
