ABOUT US
Welcome to The Autism Group, a Maidenhead based charity committed to supporting and enhancing the lives of young people on the spectrum, their parents, and carers.
Our focus is on offering support for parents of children and young people from pre-school age up to 30 and social opportunities for children and young people with autism aged 9 to 30 through our clubs. Our parent support includes support groups across East Berkshire, one to one support and free parent workshop sessions which are delivered by qualified team members who are also parents of young people on the spectrum. These are offered on-line, at a variety of times to make them as accessible as possible.
We also offer training sessions to help those working in the wider community to enhance their practice. These include our unique ‘Autism in an Hour™’ session which delivers essential information to time pressed professionals.
We have met some amazing young people, parents, carers, families and friends through our clubs, workshops, parent chats, home visits and fundraising events since we registered as a charity in April 2016. We understand and accept the unique characteristics and attributes of young people on the spectrum and offer a warm welcome and support to them, their families and carers in all our activities. If you are parenting, caring, living, or working with someone on the autism spectrum take a look at what we have to offer.
